Using the Enolytics Date Picker to Analyze DTC Winery Performance
The Enolytics date picker is a powerful tool for evaluating your winery’s DTC performance—across tasting room sales, wine club retention, shipments, and SKU trends—by making it easy to compare any time period with past performance. Here’s how to use it to focus your analysis on the periods that matter most to your business.
Introduction
The date picker is located in the top-right corner of key analytics pages. By adjusting this control, you can instantly filter all dashboard data—such as AOV trends in the tasting room, member churn after club shipments, or SKU sales—by any preset or custom date range, and compare performance to previous periods. Here’s a step-by-step breakdown of what the date picker does, how to use its features, and what each choice unlocks for your analysis.
Step 1: Go to the analytics dashboard where you want to adjust the date range. Locate the date picker panel in the upper-right corner of your Enolytics interface. You'll see the current period (CP), usually set to Year-to-Date by default, and the prior period (PP), which automatically compares the same window from the previous year.
Step 2: Click the date picker to open a panel showing twelve preset ranges arranged in four rows of three. These include options like Year-To-Date, Quarter-To-Date, Yesterday, Last 12 Months, Last Full Year, Last Full Quarter, Last Full Month, Last Full Week (Monday–Sunday), Last 7 Days, and Last 30 Days.
Step 3: Select your preferred date range from the presets tab. For example, picking "Yesterday" will update the data display to only show yesterday's performance across all winery metrics.
Step 4: To analyze longer trends—such as year-over-year club retention or tasting room growth—choose options like "Last 12 Months" or "Last Full Year." "Last Full Year" shows only complete years (e.g., 2025 if that's the last finished year).
Step 5: To look at recent changes or campaign results, select "Last 30 Days" and click OK. All charts and panels refresh to reflect this range, showing your DTC metrics and the percent change compared to the previous period. For example, you might see a 20% drop versus the same window last year, with the prior figure displayed for context.
Step 6: To directly view last year's numbers, open the date picker again, choose "Previous Period," and click OK. The display updates to show all performance metrics for the equivalent period a year earlier, letting you easily track improvements or declines in tasting room AOV, club churn, or SKU demand.
Step 7: For deeper historical analysis—comparing, say, year-to-date 2026 with 2024—use the "Compare Years Back" slider below the presets. Set the slider to "-2" to compare the current period to two years ago. You can compare up to ten years back for spotting long-term trends in club retention or SKU preference shifts. The default is -1 (last year); if changed, it stays set for your session until adjusted again.
Step 8: To select a custom range (for campaign tracking or seasonal evaluations), either use the "Pick Your Dates" tab—where instructions are provided—or in the presets tab, click directly on any displayed date to start a manual selection. Your chosen start date is underlined with a bold line.
Step 9: Scroll the calendar to your desired start date (e.g., April 13th, 2024) and select it. That date will be circled. Then click to select your end date (e.g., September 5th, 2024). As you navigate months, the start date may scroll out of view but remains locked for your custom range.
Step 10: When both start and end dates are selected, the range is displayed (for instance, "April 13th through September 5th, 2024"). Click OK to apply. All dashboards—whether club shipments, tasting room sales, or SKU breakdowns—will filter to this period and show a comparison to the equivalent window in the prior year.
Conclusion
The date picker in Enolytics lets you adjust your analytical window with precision—making it easy to focus on seasonal trends, shipment cycles, or compare key campaigns across years. By setting custom date ranges and comparison windows, you gain actionable insights on how tasting room traffic, wine club retention, shipments, or SKU performance change over time, empowering you to make smarter DTC decisions.
